What is Mantle?
MNT is the main token of Mantle, a network built on top of Ethereum to make it faster and cheaper to use. This kind of network is often called a "Layer 2". Mantle handles transactions more quickly and at lower cost than Ethereum's main network, while still relying on Ethereum for security.
Mantle launched in 2023. It grew out of BitDAO, one of the largest community-run organisations in crypto, when the BIT token was converted to MNT. People use MNT to pay transaction fees, vote on decisions about the network, and access apps built on Mantle. Its design separates how transactions are processed, stored and settled, which helps keep costs down.
