What is Ondo?
ONDO is the governance token of Ondo Finance, a platform that brings real-world assets onto the blockchain. A governance token gives holders a say in how the platform is run. Ondo takes traditional assets like US Treasuries, stocks and ETFs and turns them into digital tokens that can be held and traded on the blockchain.
Ondo Finance was founded in 2021. The ONDO token became publicly tradable in January 2024. Holding ONDO lets you vote on decisions about how the platform develops. The wider platform gives people access to traditional financial products that were once hard to reach, with a strong focus on staying within the rules set by regulators.
